On January 20 and 21, 2026, PermaCOST held its first General Meeting in Potsdam, Germany. In total, 35 people participated on site, and 12 people attended online. Over two full days of plenary and group sessions, we had intense discussions on permafrost monitoring in Europe and beyond, contributing to shape the upcoming activities of the Action in the coming years. The first day, we worked on setting up a community survey, as part of the Working Group 1. The second day, we kicked off the activities of the four other Working Groups (WG2-5).
