2026 Call for ITC/NCC Conference Grants

COST Actions offer Inclusiveness Target Countries conference grants. These grants support Action participants with a primary affiliation in an institution located in Inclusive Target Countries (ITC) and Near Neighbour Countries (NNC), participating in PermaCOST to present an in-person presentation at a high-level conference fully organised by a third party. The content of the presentation and conference subject must be within the scope of the Action.

The grants in this call are for supporting in-person only presentations with a maximum of 1200 Euro per award.

Applications are accepted on a continuous basis. Please note that up to 100% of the annual ITC budget may be allocated in the first round. Contact ylva.sjoberg@umu.se to confirm if any funds remain.

Timeline 

  • Timeline for applications: This call will stay continuously open. The selection of candidates will follow the method “first-in-first-evaluated”, until the end of the allocated budget or the grant period.
  • Final date for completing activities:October 5th, 2026.

Funding criteria 

Those applications meeting the COST eligibility criteria for the type of grant will be ranked by the Grant Awarding Coordinators together with the relevant core group members based on these criteria:

The selection will follow the COST policies on inclusiveness (gender, age, geography).

The final award decision will be approved by the Grant Awarding Committee.

Instructions

All applications are submitted via the e-cost platform, following the instructions outlined in the grant awarding user guide (https://www.cost.eu/uploads/2025/01/COST-Grant-Awarding-user-guide.pdf), which contains links to application and reporting templates. Supporting documents needed for the application are:

  • ITC Conference Grant Application (based on e-COST template)
  • Copy of the abstract of the accepted oral presentation
  • Acceptance (or invitation) letter from the conference organisers

The grants will be paid after the activity is completed and reported in the e-cost system (see instructions for reporting in the grant awarding user guide). Supporting documents needed for the reporting are:

  • Report (following the given template)
  • Certificate of attendance
  • Programme of the conference or book of abstracts / proceedings indicating the presentation
  • Copy of the given presentation
